How weird is that, right? I mean, I totally set up this whole theme Sunday night when I realized that I had no idea what to make for July’s theme, and yet here is Alo Yoga, walking, or should I say bending, alongside me, helping me move mindfully through the month of July.
What I’ve started to consider while doing this practice and sort of along with preparing to move, is that mindfulness in the process is essential to not losing your mind. I know that might sound extremely platitudinous but I don’t think I’ve ever actually attempted it. And while that’s not entirely surprising, I wonder what the process will be like if I am able to focus my mind and remain aware of what is going on inside of me and around me. If mindfulness is the continuous awareness of our bodies, emotions, and thoughts, then I wonder if it will at all be possible to remain collectively “cool” during the move, or at least mindful of my actions and reactions when things get difficult.
I think I am going to set aside my 8 Weeks of MTB and incorporate their videos and free classes into my yoga practice for the month to see how mindful movement helps or hinders moving across the country. If you’d like to join you can sign up by clicking the link below.
